Tool: Diverse SOGIESC Continuum

Edge Effect developed the Diverse SOGIESC Continuum as an analytical tool for assessing progress toward addressing the rights, needs and strengths of people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions and sex characteristics.  It is an adaptation of gender continuum or gender spectrum tools, that focuses on SOGIESC and the social norms that underpin discrimination, violence and exclusion experienced by people with diverse SOGIESC (aka LGBTIQ+ people). Generally, the further to the right of the diagram the better. However, in some contexts inclusive and transformative work may carry risks that mean that progress across the continuum is slower.
